Victor Douglas Cox

Cox - Victor Douglas of Cumberland, passed away tragically in Fort Langley on Saturday, August 17, 2002, aged 40; doing something he loved. Predeceased by his father-in-law, Stan Poborsa. Victor is survived by his loving wife, Valerie; and their children: his son Spencer and three daughters: Carrie, Sarah, and Carly. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Martha Janot of Oshawa, Ontario, his mom and dad, Millie and Earl Cox of Edmonton, Alberta and by his mother-in-law Blanche Poborsa, his sister-in-law Kathryn Landry (Craig Jensen) and special nephews: Jordan and Manuel, all of Salt Spring Island and by his sister-in-law Cynthia (Charles) Camsell of Grande Prairie, Alberta and their family. Victor also leaves his brother Dale Cox of Nepean, Ontario and his sisters: Pearl (Norm) Sjonsberg of Saint John, New Brunswick and Crystal (Andrew) Cochrane of Calgary, Alberta and his aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews and many friends.

Victor and Valerie and family moved to Cumberland in 1992 and he was a well known Geoduck diver. Seven years ago he formed a partnership with his two friends: Glen and Norm and founded Life Line Marine Services; working in the Fish Farming industry. Victor had many interests, all outdoors activities, snowboarding, building and flying radio controlled airplanes, his Harley and gardening, in which he included his beloved wife and children. He also participated in all their activities. A very special heartfelt thank you for all the wonderful support of our friends family and church.

Funeral Service and Celebration of Victor’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 24th, 11:00 AM at Cumberland United Church with the Reverend Peter Thomsen officiating followed by a gathering of friends and family. Everyone is welcome. Private interment in the family plot Cumberland Cemetery.
