Aug 17, 1925 - Dec 4, 2017
Predeceased by her parents Walter and Margaret (nee Roy) Walton, husband Leonard Burke Tepoorten, sister Marjorie Halpin, and two infant sons.

She is survived by her children James (Holly Frederickson), Mark (Suzanne), Dale (Bill Jeffrey), Fr. Patrick, Janice (Martin Swan); by grandchildren Peter, Hank, Evan, Jayson, Mellissa, Simon, Allison, Kathryn, John, Cameron, Nicola and Emily; by great grandchildren Xavier, Izaaque, Orlando, Makaela, Amelia, Leia, Luke, Noah, and Annika; by niece Barbara Tepoorten and nephews John Halpin and David Tepoorten.

While her parents were both born in England, Vivian graduated from Kitsilano Secondary and UBC in Home Economics, an active member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

In 1948, Vivian married Leonard Burke Tepoorten at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Vancouver. Ever organized and energetic, Vivian worked at the Real Estate Board of Vancouver, then as Program co-ordinator of the Vancouver YWCA, then ran the annual Conquer Cancer campaign for the Lower Mainland, and ended her career as public relations director of the BC Children's Hospital.

Burke and Viv were blessed with many lifelong friends. They enjoyed being members of the Vancouver Lawn Tennis Badminton Club: first as racket players then as social members. Vivacious, welcoming to all without judging, and full of life, her retirement included volunteer work, fishing between Sechelt and the Trail Islands, swimming in the ocean, gardening, enjoying music, golfing and travelling.
