Walter Hetman passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, surrounded by love. Born in Fort St. John, Walter was a pioneer, proud farmer, welder, and storyteller. He shared 63 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Rose, and was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Walter was a well known welder across BC and Alberta. He was a gentle soul who found joy in growing gardens, walking the trails of Courtenay, and sharing stories.
He had a deep love for nature, dogs, and family. Walter never forgot a birthday and always made time for others. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and quiet strength.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Peter Kelly, and the nurses and the care aides at Ocean Front Village.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16th at
11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church,
1599 Tunner Dr, Courtenay, BC.
Committal to follow at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
