May 7, 1942 – January 15, 2009
It is with great sadness we tell you of the passing of Wayne. After a brief but valiant battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma (a rare and very aggressive cancer) Wayne died surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years Audrey, daughter Jacqueline (Cal), son Bradley (Anikke) and his beloved grandchildren Tyler (15), Madison (13), Shayla (12), and Hunter (8), his sisters Donna (Rick), Karen, Joanne (Rob), Margaret (Marty), cousin Gary (Pauline), special ‘daughter’ Shelley, many nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Dave, mother Margaret, brother-in-law John and many other loved ones.
Wayne was in the military for 10 years and continued to work at CFB Comox for 23 more years as a civilian. After he retired in 1995 he took up his next “job” golf, a game he enjoyed everyday. Mostly Wayne loved being with his family. Wayne and Audrey travelled extensively and he enjoyed his life tremendously. The sun was always shining in “Wayne’s world”.
We would like to thank Dr. Nantell (VGH), Dr. Crowe and Dr. Engman for all their excellent care and professionalism.
We will miss you more than words can say. Until we meet again.
A Remembrance and Celebration of ‘Wayne’s life will be held at Crown Isle Resort on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm.
