July 29, 1939 - September 20, 2018
Mina started school in Deep Bay (B.C. Packers Fishing Camp). She moved to Courtenay in 1950 where she completed school. She met and married Harry Inman in 1957 and had three children before she was 22. They lived on Lake Trail Road for 32 years and raised their children Gary, Michael and Marla. She was a stay at home mom until the youngest, Marla, was 11 years old. She then worked part time at Wong's Kitchen on 5th Street, then moved on to Courtenay Hardware. In 1975 she then went to work at Zellers where she worked for 14 years. In 1985 she left Zellers and went to work with her husband, Harry, at their tire shop (Inman Tire Vulcanizing) where she drove the tire truck from Port Hardy to Victoria picking up tires that Harry repaired. She also did the bookkeeping and sold tires and many other jobs.

In 1990 they sold the business and bought a motorhome and travelled around the coast of the USA spending the summer in PEI. For the next 9 years they spent the winters in Arizona and Texas. The summers were spent in Rock Bay (north of Campbell River). Harry and Mina bought a home in Royston in 1999. Harry passed in 2004, Mina remained in the home in Royston.

In 2005, Mom started a 50+ singles club to help seniors to learn to live alone, the group was a great success with approx. 140 members it still carries today.

Mom got scleroderma in 1991 and had a long fight with the disease that affected her heart and lungs. In 2006 she had a heart attack. Mom fought very hard to keep moving and fight the disease. But in the end, it took her.

She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was a wonderful Nana GG. She was so proud of us all; Gary (Dena), Michael (Debbie), Marla (Pete), grandchildren Michelle, Duane, Kristi and Jesse, great grandchildren Dylan, Karsyn, Fionn, Ryder and Jade. Dylan, who was her great delight, made her laugh and kicked her butt at checkers. You were the apple of her eye.

In 2006 she met Dennis Stevens at her singles club. They had 12 happy years together. They travelled to Mexico and Maui with Mike and Deb where the four of them had great times. They camped and had a few cold ones. Mom said Dennis taught her the true meaning of love and trust.

Mom (Mina) will be dearly missed by many family and friends. Her strength was empowering to us all. A special thank you to Comox Views Hospice for your special care for our mom and Aunt Bernice, her friend of 61 years, for being there with us. Also, Maureen Smith our angel and Maurette for your continual visits, Dick Lewis for always being a friend, Dr. Hunter and all the rest I haven't mentioned.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Courtenay Upper Legion Hall on Sept. 29th, 1 pm - 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Scleroderma Society.
