August 5, 1942 - January 12, 2019
It is with great sadness that our family announce the passing of Bill.

Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Bill was predeceased by his parents William and Mirren Bell and twin sister Ann Hoffman.

He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 51 years Joy, older brother Doug (Roxanna), sons Scott (Julie) and Duncan (Annette), daughter in law Juanita and grandchildren Morgan, Jordan, Cameron, Logan and Carson as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Bill spent his early years as a log scaler working in places on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.

In 1978, Bill and Joy started W. Bell contracting and in 1983 they expanded by purchasing Northern Ropes and Industrial Supply.

An avid outdoorsman, Bills activities included hunting, fishing, hiking, and kayaking. Among his personal accomplishments was the building of his cabin on Comox Lake, a chalet on Forbidden Plateau and most notably the log house he and Joy built together and lived in till his passing.

Bill was a member of the Courtenay Fish and Game, Comox Valley Fly Tying Club, Ducks Unlimited, Oyster River Enhancement Society and BC Fisheries.

The family would like to pass on a special thanks to all the nurses at the Comox Valley Hospital who spent 2 weeks keeping Bill comfortable until his passing.

A Celebration of Life will follow in April at the Courtenay Fish and Game at Comox Lake on April 27, 2019 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers there will be a donation box to go to Y.A.N.A at the event. Condolences may be offered at tonefffunerals.com.
