William Alexander (Bill)
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on July 5, 2003. Bill was born in Nigg, Scotland on June 16, 1912.
Leaves to mourn Joan, his loving wife of 63 years; daughters: Phyllis (Don) Whitehead, Tsawwassen, Cathy (Gene) Kawano, Campbell River, Andrea (Joe) Patenaude, Oyster River, Sherry (Larry) Grant, Val Marie, Sask., Lori (Bob) Van Humbeck, Campbell River; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Jean (Milt) McHale, Courtenay; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Bill arrived in Canada with his family at age 15. He worked in the logging industry for 39 years (Comox Logging and retired from Crown Zellerbach in 1977).
Since retiring he enjoyed camping and traveling. Bill and Joan resided in Merville for many years and then moved to Courtenay for the last 2 years.
