Bartkow William Arthur (Bill)

Nov 24, 1930 - April 16, 2008

Dad passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox after and long and courageous battle with cancer.

Survived by his loving wife of 51 years Margaret, son Dennis (Tammie) of Comox. Sister Mary of Vancouver. Grandchildren Angela, Brendan and Ricky. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his mother and father Mike and Julie Bartkow, twin brother Emil and Sister Edna.

Born in Canal Flats the family moved to Quesnel when Bill was just a toddler. He married Margaret in 1956 and they made Prince George their home where Bill owned and operated a dump truck business for 35 years before retiring in 1998. In 2001 they sold their snow shovels and moved to the Comox Valley to be closer to their son. Bill and Margaret loved to camp and travel, from a weekend at the lake with friends, to the winters in the Southern states and Mexico. Upon moving to the Comox Valley Bill quickly made friends and loved to join some of them at the Lorne Hotel in the late afternoon for a cold beer, a game of Keno, and some good conversation.

A very special Thank-you to Dr. Dave Musgrave and Dr. William Tinmouth. Their special care enabled Dad to keep a smile on his face and remain at home until his final days. Many thanks to the nursing staff at St. Joe's for their compassionate care at the end.

No Service by request.

Rest in peace Daddy
