In Loving Memory ~
William "Bill" Albert Ramsay, 92, a resident of Courtenay, B.C., entered into Eternal Rest, Saturday June 25th. Bill was born March 8,1930 in Vancouver, B.C. and was raised there. In his teens he drove a truck up and down the coast making deliveries to various stores. He and May married October 7, 1950. in 1955 he moved his family up to Puntzi Mtn where he had gotten a job at the NORAD Station run by the 917th Squadron Air Force out of the United States. He had many jobs while there and eventually was sent back East for training to run the Chlorination system at the water plant. In 1962, when they started to close down the NORAD Station, he moved to Summerland, B.C. where he bought a Bowling Alley that he and May operated for several years. He then worked for Pruden Realty and eventually got his license to become a Realtor selling houses in Summerland and eventually in Parksville when they moved over to the Island. When he retired he took up woodworking, carving, Intarsia and making childrens toys for the Grandkids. He loved to go to his Carving Club and work with "the Boys".
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, May, his parents Fred and Isobel Ramsay, infant Grandson Kyle W Ramsay, Son-in-Law Dan Frizzell, and his youngest Daughter Leigh-Ann Ramsay.
He is survived by his loving children of whom he was so proud: Sharon (Dale) Farnsworth, Florence, Oregon, Sandra (Dave) Khalembach, Summerland, B.C., Bill (Chris) Ramsay , Brenda Frizzell, his sister Margaret (George) Hrennikoff, Vancouver, B.C., Sister-in Law Margaret Letcher, Keremeos, B.C. as well as 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
At Bill's request there will be no Memorial Service.
The family would like to thank the Comox Valley Senior Village (Residential Care Unit) for the wonderful loving care they gave to Dad.
