William Claude Raymond Howard

With profound sadness the family of Bill Howard announces his passing on October 25, 2019 after a brief illness. Born on February 1, 1958, he lived almost 62 years, 52 of them in the Comox Valley. He was predeceased by his father Claude, March 2005 and his mother Iva, September 2006. Bill is survived by his brother James, his sister Lauretta (Raymond), uncles Alexander (Jay) and Nicholas (Sanni) as well as several cousins and extended family.
Bill lived an amazing full life attending a variety of programs and special needs facilities in the Comox Valley. He was beloved by his many friends and caregivers over the years, having spent 6 years with Roland and Cori Emery and the last 11 years with Beth, his "mom" (and Ron, Deceased) Perry. As his activity coordinator, Beth filled his days with bowling, curling, horse-back riding, swimming and Special Olympics track and field. He attended the Beaufort Association day facility and worked diligently in their Pet Treat Bakery. He will be sorely missed by his caregivers and friends there.
Heartfelt appreciation to the caring and wonderful doctors, nurses and aides at the North Island Hospital Comox Valley.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 3:00pm from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, with a reception to follow in the 'Garden Room" of the funeral home.
