William Joseph "Bill" Holmes

April 4, 1939 - May 12, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Holmes after a long battle with cancer.
Predeceased by his father William Edward Holmes and Mother Vera Mae Holmes.
Survived by his loving wife of 61 years Deanna Joyce Holmes, his brother Alvin, sisters Marie and Mary, his son Stephen(Karen), daughter Laura(Guy), grandchildren Timothy, Miranda, Amanda and Matthew and Great grandsons Aiden and Levi.
Bill was born and raised in Cape Breton N.S. and joined the military at the age of 17. During his career with the military he travelled the world a few times over.
He retired from the military in 1980 and began work at Comox Moving and Storage until finally retiring for good. He had a great love of music and could tell you a bit of history on every musician he listened to.
Bill had a lot of good friends and acquaintances in the valley and around the globe. He will be remembered by many for his quirky sense of humour and gifts of appreciation.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Comox Valley Hospital for their comforting care in his final days.

A Celebration of life will be held at 1 pm, June 29th, 2019 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1825 Comox Ave.
