Lavery - William “Bill”, aged 71, of Comox, passed away on Thursday, March 6th, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Predeceased by his father Henry, he is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife Fran (Newcombe); daughter Janet Lavery in England; son Simon Lavery (Susan) of Toronto; stepchildren: Richard (Carrol) Newcombe of Mississauga, Robert (Marsha) Newcombe of Courtenay, and Wendy (Steve) Davitt of Campbell River; grandchildren: Jacklyn and Christopher Newcombe, Taura Leith, Andrea (Jason) Sheppard, Nathan Newcombe, Jason Davitt and Colten and Adelaide Lavery; great granddaughter Ashton Leith; brothers: Harry and Nick, both of Toronto; sister Eileen in England; his mother Margaret Lavery of Mississauga; his nieces and nephews; former wife Jean Lavery in England and very dear friend Jane McGillivray of Courtenay.
Bill came to Canada from England in 1964 and worked for Douglas Aircraft and Litton Systems (Canada) Limited in Rexdale, retiring to the Comox Valley in 1990.
A Service of Remembrance in celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 13th at 11:00 am from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, followed by fellowship and refreshments in “The Garden Room” of the Funeral Home.
