William Pearson Carr

1930 ~ 2009

William “Bill” Pearson Carr passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2009 at the age of 79 years.

Bill was born in Drumheller, Alberta. He had varied interests and held various types of employment through out his younger years. One of which was sales and in 1951 he was appointed Salesman of the Year for the Curtis Plan. As well, in 1951, Bill earned his Alberta Funeral Director’s License. He eventually took that license and moved to the Comox Valley in 1975. He spent the better part of 30 years at Piercy’s Funeral Home, serving the community he called his own. He was a well respected Funeral Director and Embalmer. He was also known as a fishing guide in the Valley and he was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Bill also enjoyed hunting and especially fishing! He was always full of suggestions and where possible, he wouldn’t hesitate to lend a hand. He also enjoyed his early morning coffee and crossword puzzles. He has touched many lives in many ways and he will be sadly missed.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Piercy’s Funeral Home, on Saturday January 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM.
