BARBER, William Robert Barber Jr.

Our only son, brother and loved one has left us very suddenly. Bill was born on June 26th 1956 at the Comox Hospital and passed away on May 6th, 2010. As our young son he was always the perfect protective caring big brother. After leaving school he moved to Edmonton to become a very skilled laborer in the drywall industry. Bill returned to the Valley and became a lifelong valued employee of BC Ferries. From a very young man to his last day Bill had a great passion for classic old cars and loved to restore, show and most of all, drive them way too fast!!! Mechanics were his talent. He could fix almost any boat motor or car. Bill is survived and missed by his father William Sr and mother Myrna Barber, three sisters and brother-in-laws, Sandi (Joe), Karen (Steve), Ann (Vance), his loving spouse Kim Hawkins, his four beautiful children David, Jennel, Chalsi, Tiffany, and six beautiful stepchildren, Tina, Lisa, Jessica, Nicole, Rebecca, and Sarah, his nine grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his Uncle Harold, cousin Steve along with many more relatives, as well as Nancy and his many friends. We will miss your great big bear hugs. You will always be with us in our hearts and memories. With all of our love, may you now drive the car of your dreams, fast, far and forever!!!

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion of Courtenay on the 22nd of May at 2:00 p.m. in the upper hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be made on Bill's behalf.
