Wilma Elaine

Passed away December 28, 2006

at St. Joseph’s Hospital ICU

“God called for Wilma

before we were ready to let her go”

Wilma is survived by her husband Ross Turner; daughters: Debbie Digman and Shelley Hein; son Jonathan Blanchard; grandchildren: Matthew, Tylor, Laura; great-grandson Emjay; step-children: Troy and Kimberley. Wilma’s family resides in Crofton: father Bill Grant; brother Ross (Donna) Grant; nephews: Ian Grant and Andrew (Barbara) Grant; and their children William and Fiona. Also her large extended Turner family.

Wilma is dearly missed by her family and friends. She was an extremely giving, and loving woman. Wilma always put others before herself, both in her career and home life. She faced painful adversity everyday but she maintained a smile on her face and a laugh on her lips. She was involved in Victims Services in Prince George almost from the start of the program, until her ailments “forced” her to go on medical leave. She still had the strong desire to help others so she volunteered at the Comox Valley Hospice Society until her passing.

Wilma’s family expresses our thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff that provided excellent care and comfort for Wilma in her final days. We would also like to thank the Hospice Society for rushing to our side in our desperate time of need, and providing the comfort and support that made this bearable.

Wilma wishes that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Comox Valley Hospice Society.

A Memorial will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Florence Filberg Center at 411 Anderton Avenue, Courtenay, BC.
