Winnifred Mary
Born on November 22, 1914 at Vancouver, BC and passed away on February 13, 2008 at Comox, B.C.
She was predeceased by her husband, John on January 6, 2003 and an infant granddaughter in 1970.
Winnifred is survived by her 4 children: Ann (Chuck), Jack (April), Linda (Conrad) and Jim (Nadine); 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; many numerous nieces and nephews; 1 brother-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law.
Win was very community minded. She was active throulghout her life in School Board P.T.A., Cumberland Fire Department, Women's Auxiliary, Hospital Board, Girl Guides, St. John's Ambulance, Cumberland O.A.P., 24th May Committee, Anglican Church W.A., Folk Festival, Caledonian Society, Scattered Skits, Civil Defense, TOPS, Home Nursing and she taught dancing to youngsters with John and they both received the 1994 Outstanding Citizen award in Cumberland.
Funeral service will be held at Cumberland United Church on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ray Brandon officiating. Interment to follow at the Cumberland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Winnifred's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
