morson - Winnifred May, age 89, a recent resident of Arranglen Gardens, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, March 29th, 2003. Predeceased by her husband Bill; brothers Reg, Arthur, Frank, William, George and Bert Longland and grandson Craig Skelley, she is survived by and will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Anne (Herb) Adamschek of Campbell River and Heather (Wayne) Shelley of Abbotsford; grandchildren Shannon, Jason, Kevin and Cameron; great-grandchildren Leigh, Daelyn, Kirstyn, Bronwyn, Gillian, Cassidy and Carter, as well as her nieces and nephews. Winnie, as she was affectionately known, was a life-long resident of the Comox Valley. She will be remembered as working for a number of years with her husband Bill, at Morson’s Shoe Repair and for her skill at sewing and crocheting. In her leisure, she travelled extensively with Bill, following their retirement. A Service of Remembrance was held on Friday, April 4th at 2:00 p.m. from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, with Mr. Lawrence Burns officiating, followed by fellowship and refreshments in the “Garden Room” of the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Courtenay Civic Cemetery, following cremation. Should friends desire, donations in Winnie’s memory to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Avenue, V9M 1P2 would be appreciated.
