Dear editor,As we are fast approaching Christmas, I am saddened to see the appearance on windows and signs that say Happy Holidays or May your holiday be happy or whatever.There is never the mention of what the holiday actually is. We all know that it is Christmas or Hanukkah but for some reason, we have forgotten how to acknowledge it.Can we not be the city that keeps Christmas — where people are not ashamed to say merry Christmas or happy Hanukkah?After all, this is the reason why we are celebrating a holiday. This is the reason we put up lights, buy presents, sing carols, put up Christmas trees and, most importantly, celebrate the birth of Jesus."It was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge.
