Disabled in B.C. tired of talk

Dear editor, How very enlightened for our local MLA to make a photo-op announcement about talking, talking and talking and talking.

Dear editor,

How very enlightened for our local MLA to make a photo-op announcement about talking, talking and talking and talking about what the elected government can do for persons with disabilities.

It is past time for talking; it is time for doing.

All McRae really has to do is follow the recommendations of our local child development association, which already communicates with those persons in need. What works for our own would probably work for other communities, don't you think?

Of course, to "do" would involve having a government sitting for more than 36 days out of the past year and paying attention to other than LNG and pipelines, and other benefits for their patrons.

Where is our local MLA standing on the BC Ferries issue? Where is our local MLA standing on the fact that for the seventh year in a row, B.C. has the highest poverty rate for children?

Do!

Lynn Lewis,

Comox
