Dear editor,
Regarding Hugh MacKinnon’s letter complimenting the mayor and council for listening and applying for park status of the Northeast Woods, I think MacKinnon is right on.
With all due respect to Ms. Price’s support of the Northeast Woods, which it appears MacKinnon supports as well, the intent that I got out of MacKinnon’s letter is that he was highlighting the importance of Comox town council to listen to its taxpayers equally as well as town planners even if it means reviewing a decision or overturning a recommendation of the town planner.
That message needs to be heard and followed by Mayor Ives and town council, so kudos to MacKinnon for reinforcing it. He has my vote for this and many other reasons.
