Good article! (Flip the switch on cell phones; editorial, Aug. 28) Your idea fits with ours.
A smart company could manufacture this device. We could purchase it and have installed on our vehicles to do just as you say.
Render smartphones, laptops etc. useless while the engine is engaged in a gear other then park or neutral.
Then those of us having the device in our vehicles could get an ICBC discount just like homeowners get a discount for having an alarm system installed in their home.
The majority of us watch the distracted driving of individuals engaged in cell phone use and hope they do not cause an accident.
