Dear editor

Re: Seniors’ homes included in class action suit from the May 12 edition:

I have heard before about previous abysmal care and lack of governmental oversight in Seniors’ Village, and do not doubt that there is good reason for the class action suit.

In my experience, however, things have changed for the better. My husband, who has advanced dementia, has been in long-term care at Seniors’ Village since January 2020 and has received top-notch care and kindness. The staff in all departments have been nothing but kind and have consistently been attentive both to his needs (medical and otherwise) and the needs of the family. I visit him very frequently and have observed the same patience and kindness being offered to other patients.

I have nothing but good to say of Seniors’ Village, and hope that the events of the past will not deter families from considering it as a possible option for their loved ones.

Helen D. Jones,

Courtenay
