I am concerned about the legalization of marijuana. Having spent over 40 years related to the police industry — including a number of years in uniform — it scares me. Let me give you one incident. This is only one of many.
Leaving the detachment to go to a roll over crash some 12 kilometres away, I was going with lights and siren on, about 120 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. A car passed me! Another member pulled it over. The driver did not know what speed he was going. He did not know he had passed a police car, let alone a marked car with lights and siren on. The car stank of marijuana and the driver was high!
Oh well, get ready.
