LETTER: Shame on government, military for not paying performers’ way

Dear editor,

Dear editor,

Went to a concert at the Wing where the Military Wives Choir was fundraising to attend the Invictus Games in Toronto. They have been invited to perform at the opening ceremonies, along with the other Military Wives Choirs across Canada. These ladies have been fundraising for some time to pay for this trip: air fare and accommodation. My question is: Why? They were invited to perform; some of these wives have husbands suffering from PTSD and other injuries. Shame on the Canadian government and the military, who should have provided them with transportation and accommodation. The wives already have booked both but they should be reimbursed!
