What a convoluted article this was to read. The final motion being that garbage pickup will be biweekly.
I don’t know about anyone else’s garbage container, but mine sits inside my garage. During the summer months, the contents can ripen and the odour can be overwhelming (especially from fish discards and meat wrappings.) A weekly pickup of garbage should be paramount.
Most residents with gardens either have a composter in their backyards or put their kitchen waste into their garbage containers. Driving around Comox on garbage days, I have noted very few compost containers; something to think about. The article did not mention when the new pickup regime will commence. I have one garbage and two-yard waste containers sitting at the curb today; and I await with bated breath to see what will happen!
