Minimum wage numbers skewed

Dear editor,

Perhaps only 6.4 per cent of workers in B.C. make minimum wage, but don’t let that statistic deter anyone from supporting an increase to minimum wage.

If all of the other people making less than, let’s say $12 an hour were included, the percentage would be much higher. Imagine what it would be if you added in everyone making less than the proposed $15?

Anything less than $15 an hour is a poverty level wage in this province and all of the people stuck in this zone cannot contribute to the overall economy because they can barely pay for food and shelter.

Let’s get going on this issue and make this a province where our children have a decent future.
