Dear editor,
I have written a few letters to the Editor in the past but not for awhile. I am often asked or told that, "I haven't seen any letters from you lately" My response is that there hasn't been anything that compelled me to write......until now. I am thoroughly disgusted with the justice system's failure in the Molly Burton case. The message it sends is revolting. The system seems to cater more towards the offender than the victim.
A reasonable person would assume that if they knocked back some alcohol, got in a car, drove it so poorly as to lose control, knowingly strike a pedestrian, leave them for dead and flee the scene there would be severe consequences.
Apparently not. I am at a loss to describe how I feel about this. Unbelievable.
