New Comox Valley small business owner happy to be in 'power group'

Dear editor, Last Thursday, I was awarded the Comox Valley Home Based Business New Business of the Year Award. I’m humbly grateful to be the recipient of this award and I would like to thank the members of the HBBA for their friendship and their support.

Dear editor,

Last Thursday, I was awarded the Comox Valley Home Based Business New Business of the Year Award.

I’m humbly grateful to be the recipient of this award and I would like to thank the members of the HBBA for their friendship and their support.

As a newcomer to the Comox Valley, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful setting and wonderful climate. I thought it would take me quite a bit longer to get to know the people. Boy, was I wrong!

When I moved here, I brought my home-based bookkeeping business with me. Before we had even unpacked, I was looking around for a way to meet fellow members of the Comox Valley business community.

I found the Comox Valley Home Based Business Association right away and soon discovered it was populated with enthusiastic, forward-thinking business owners who generously and warmly welcomed me into their active group.

I have been the treasurer of the HBBA for the past few months and have had the chance to get to know the calibre of people involved. President Sue Troughton described it as a “power group” and she was right.

I would only add that in my experience they are a “power group with heart.”

Thank you.

Dianne Goodacre,

Comox Valley
