We must protect the planet; it’s all we have

Dear editor,

Re. Contentious removal of oak trees: My grandparents all came from the old country. My papas said, “Protect the waters; nothing lives without water.”

My papas said, “Protect the air; nothing thrives in dirty air.”

My papas said, “Protect the land; land gives food, shelter medicine. Protect the land.”

It behooves all humans, regardless of wealth, status or intent, to protect the diversity of the planet we live on. It’s all we really have.
