I read the letter from Alice Grange on the Maple Pool Campgrounds with interest, and agree with her absolutely.
I find the actions of Courtenay city council very disturbing.
Why take the Lins to court? These folk should be given an award from the city for their community responsibility.
They provide a place for those who cannot afford the outlandish costs of housing in the Comox Valley and they also provide a family-like atmosphere and a clean and well-run site.
The flood that occurred was a fluke flood. No one was hurt in the flood and, as Ms. Grange pointed out, many other homes were flooded and they have not been required to pull down their homes and move somewhere else.
So what is this really about? I am embarrassed and shocked at Courtenay city council for their high-handed and inappropriate action.
