Bats boom in master's men baseball

Eight teams score 45 runs in four KMRBL games at Highland Secondary

The sun finally shone on the Komox Masters Real Baseball League on May 11, and the bats heated up in response.

After rain scrubbed six of their first seven games, the KMRBL got in a full slate of games Sunday at Highland Senior Secondary. Leading off was the Brian McLean Yankees knocking off the Mindset Wealth Mariners 9-1.

The bats kept booming as Tonef Funeral Services Blue Jays buried Investors Group Expos 13-4. Happy's Source for Sports Indians got by Edwards Avenue Athletics 5-3, and Williams Construction Nationals nailed Courtenay Plumbing Twins 9-1.

Play resumes Thursday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Highland when the Athletics and Mariners get together.

The KMRBL then breaks for the long weekend, with play resuming next week with games Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
