Proving once again that the cream always rises to the top, the Mike Fisher Blue Jays and Courtenay Plumbing Twins will meet to decide the 2012 Komoux Masters Real Baseball League playoff championship.

The first-place Blue Jays (14-4) defeated fourth-place Happy's Source for Sports Indians (10-9) by a score of 11-7 and the second-place Twins (13-5-1) knocked off the third-place Dundee Giants (12-6-1) by a 10-3 tally in semifinal action Sunday at Highland Field in Comox.

That set the stage for this Sunday's (Sept. 16) championship showdown between the Blue Jays and the Twins at Highland Field. Game time for the clash of the titans is 1 p.m.

The Blue Jays swept three regular season meetings with the Twins, winning 8-1, 13-6 and 5-3.

Meanwhile, the KMRBL year-end banquet will be on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Courtenay Elks. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., dinner served around 7:30 p.m. with award presentations to follow. Tickets are $20  per person and must be purchased before Friday, Sept. 14.
