This past week was a very active time for Crown Isle Ladies golfers.
Thirty Ladies played in the Captains Cup format three-man scramble, hosted by our men’s club on June 8.
Two teams had a chip-off for first place: winners were Judy Pouliot, Sandy Linhart and Margaret Forgeron with 71. Second were Katy Maccauly, Barb Parker and Audrey Clark.
Four teams chipped off for third place: winners were Carol Ann Roulston, Marsha Mackinnon and Janet Phillips with 74.
The Zone 6 CTC (Club Team Championship) was held June 9 at Myrtle Point Golf Club at Powell River with Crown Isle entering four teams. Getting up at 4:30 a.m. to catch the ferry did not dampen the spirits of the 12 good-natured ladies that participated. The Shiela Van Gisbergen team of Shiela, Iris Peterson and Karen Currie finished fourth with Katy Maccaulay, Sandra Morton and Linday Stickney 15th.
Our Tuesday Ladies played a team game using the Stableford format with one point for bogey, two points for par, three points for birdie, four points for eagle, -1 point for a double bogey or above.
First place team: Dee Horie, Judy Kaffka, Jan Macfarlane and Margaret Forgeron 149. Second place team: Judy Pouliot, Gillian Kirkpatrick, Katy Maccauly and Donna Wilson 147.
