Canada undefeated at Premier 12 baseball tournament

Courtenay's Taylor Green goes 1-for-3 with RBI in 5-1 win over Cuba

Canada is undefeated at the Premier 12 baseball tournament in Taiwan, winning their first three games in Pool A play.

Canada opened Nov. 10 with a 5-1 win over Cuba, where Courtenay's Taylor Green (hitting sixth as DH) went 1-for-3 with an RBI. On Nov. 11 Canada blanked Puerto Rico 2-0 and on Nov. 12 got by Chinese Taipei 9-8.

Canada completes pool play with games against Italy on Nov. 14 and Netherlands on Nov. 15.

Pool A leader Canada is one of two undefeated teams, the other is Group B leader Japan also at 3-0.

The inaugural Premier 12 tourney runs till Nov. 21, with the top 12 ranked nations in the baseball world according to the WBSC ranking system competing.

Along with national pride, there is $4 million prize money at stake, with the winner taking home $1 million.
