Dakota Sanzana, 13, won two gold medals at the Steveston 2019 Judo Tournament last weekend.
The Comox resident won her weight decision of -48kg in the U16 and U18 divisions.
Her next venture is a training camp in Vancouver over the Christmas holidays. In January, she will compete at the 2020 Elite 8 National Championships in Montreal. The U18-and-older tournament consists of the top eight Canadian athletes in each weight category who will vie for a national title.
Her family is hoping to find Dakota a business sponsor to help pay for travel expenses. They are collecting bottles to help offset costs.
