Comox Valley Atom A Chiefs win VIAHA Division 2 championship

The TD Wealth Comox Valley Atom A Chiefs hockey team won the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association Division 2 championship on March 10 in Parksville.

The TD Wealth Comox Valley Atom A Chiefs hockey team won the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association Division 2 championship on March 10 in Parksville.

The Chiefs entered the playoffs on quite a roll, having gone undefeated since Nov. 18. The playoffs started on March 9 with a semifinal win against Powell River. It was a hard fought game with the final score being 7-5 for Comox.

Next up was the championship game early on Sunday morning where the Chiefs came out flying. With a final score of 16-6, Comox Valley played a strong team game where they showcased the skills and plays they worked on in practice all year. The coaching staff agreed that the kids played great. They are very proud of all that the players accomplished over the season.

The Atom A Chiefs also won gold medals at tournaments in Juan de Fuca over Christmas break and Campbell River in February.
