Comox Valley Glacier Kings lose twice on weekend

The Comox Valley Glacier Kings lost 6-5 to the Westshore Wolves, Saturday at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.

Westshore jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame before Matt Teasdale scored on the power play for the home side later in the period. Glacier Kings captain Caileb Berge evened the score 30 seconds into the second period. Ty Moore made it 3-2 for the Yetis, scoring a short-handed goal at 8:46. Westshore tied the game a minute later, but the home side regained the lead at the 11:27 mark on a goal by Joe Weber. Less than a minute later, Westshore tied it at four and took the lead at 16:48. Berge scored his second goal of the game at 18:37 to again tie the game to close out the second. Westshore scored the lone goal of the third period to win the game.

Friday in Campbell River, the Glacier Kings lost 3-1 to the league-leading Storm. Brigham Nye gave the Yetis a 1-0 lead at 6:46 of the first period, but Campbell River responded with two goals in the first and one in the second period.

Comox Valley’s next game is Friday, Nov. 12 at home against Nanaimo. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.
