The Comox Valley Lacrosse Association is holding a $1,000 fundraising raffle, with tickets available until June 22.

This is the second year for this vital fundraiser which directly funds uniforms, goalie equipment, floor time, tournament fees, and referees and most important of all, it subsidizes registration fees.

“We heavily subsidize mini-tyke and tyke registration fees and even provide new mini-tyke and tyke players with brand new sticks for $25. All our players receive shorts and matching socks,” said past president Geoff Garbutt. “I don’t know of any other association in the Comox Valley that does this. We want to keep this initiative going which is why this fundraiser is so vitally important.”

Box lacrosse has a short season, typically from late March to end June. There are approximately 100 youth playing lacrosse in the Comox Valley who are enjoying much success in tournaments both locally and throughout Vancouver Island.

With only 2,200 tickets being sold you better get yours soon. Anyone wanting to support Lacrosse in the Comox Valley by purchasing a $5 raffle ticket can email cvlacrosse04@gmail.com or call 250-338-3763.
