Comox Valley Special Olympics hosting fundraiser

Gala Evening & Silent Auction with dinner goes March 14 at Crown Isle

Comox Valley Special Olympics invite you to support them by attending a 14 Gala Evening & Silent Auction with dinner on March 14.

Special Olympics is a multi-sport organization that offers year-round training and competitive sport opportunities for individuals with an intellectual disability. Comox Valley Special Olympics provides program services to more than 90 athletes in the sports of swimming, bowling, floor hockey, curling, alpine skiing, rhythmic gymnastics, bocce, softball, and track and field.

This Gala evening is being graciously hosted by Crown Isle Resort, the Comox Valley’s premier golfing destination. The no-host bar opens at 6:30; the buffet dinner starts at 7; the silent auction is available for bidding from 6:30-9:30.

The evening’s entertainment is generously provided by Comox Valley’s own Jilli Martini Band. Jilli is recognized for her ability to perform a broad range of styles and genres, from sultry blues, to rock ballads and everything in between. She is also the leader of the Jilli Martini Band, a high energy rock band guaranteed to fill the dance floor, primarily featuring favourite hits from the '70s and '80s, with some older and newer tunes thrown in as well.

Tickets for this great evening are $50 per person and available at Long & McQuade on Cliffe Street, Codes Country Lanes at 6th and Duncan, or by calling 250-898-1153.

A variety of Comox Valley businesses have donated great gifts, prizes and services for the silent auction. Businesses in Victoria and the Lower Mainland have also provided auction items.

To keep up on silent auction items as they come in, check out CVSO’s Facebook page at facebook.com/ComoxValleySpecialO. It is not too late to donate to the silent auction: call 250-898-1153 to arrange pick-up.
