Isfeld Ice senior girls’ soccer team was at the University of Victoria June 1-3 for the 2023 BC High School girls provincial soccer tournament. This very strong and talented team went through regular season play and the North Island playoffs undefeated, and resumed that streak throughout the provincial tournament.

To qualify for provincials, Isfeld hosted the Vancouver Island finals, which saw the Ice make the final match against a very tough Victoria squad from St. Michael’s University School. SMUS prevailed 2-0l handing the Ice what would be their only loss of the season.

At provincials, the Ice won three games and tied two, winning their pool play game in a very exciting penalty kick shoot-out. Even though they didn’t lose a game during the provincials, the tied game translated into earning them fifth place in the province.

Outstanding Grade 11 player Bella Rosa Ternes, who was also the team’s halftime goalie, was the high scorer of the whole tournament with seven goals scored during regular play and one in penalty kicks.

Coach Aarlen Storey congratulates the team on its incredible teamwork and determination throughout the season and gives proud recognition to the graduating Grade 12 players on their commitment to playing soccer throughout their high school years.
