Crown Isle well represented at Gabriola Island golf tournament

Comox ladies sept 5: first low gross was Sharon Crowe with 89; first low net Anne Patterson 71, fewest number of putts Monica Yoo 29; longest putt no. 1. Gi Carlson, longest putt no. 8/17 Marg Siddall; chip-ins Pat Everett, Nancy Riva and Jean Kirby. Sept. 7: first low gross Janice Nicklin with 43; first low net Fran Robinson 30; fewest number of putts Riva and Patti Harris 14; first shot on no. 5 green was Sue Leakey. Riva also had a chip-in.

•Crown Isle Ladies Pin Day, #6 was Aug. 30. First low gross winner was Dee Horie with 75, second was Raelene Robertson with 82, third was Maggie MacLean and Sheila Van Gisbergen with 84, and fourth was Katy Macaulay with 85. Low net winners were Sandra Linhart with 65, Kathy McGillis 67 and Janice Bain with 68. Fourth low net scores were Anne Sands, Brenda Barrigan, Donna Cunliffe, Karen Griffiths, Jennifer Turner and Shirley Podovsky. Horie had the lowest number of putts with 29. KPs on #4 were Shirley Ketter and Brenda Good, hole 12 was Barb Parker and Ev Shaw.

Crown Isle was well represented at the Gabriola Island Ladies Amateur golf tournament with Evie MacDonald, Horie, Carol Ayley and Val Dingwall playing partners Best Net Ball. Then on Sept. 5, golfers tried to ‘stay on the train.’ Managing 14 points was Judy Aldcroft, Norma Jean Huculak, Brenda Barrigan and Linda Stickney. Second was Gwen Rypien, Elizabeth Folk, Iris Peterson, Jean Wharton and Brenda Good. Third was Anne Sands, Marsha Mackinnon, Donna Cunliffe, Selma Cole, Evie MacDonald, Mary Payne and Dingwall. Raelene Robertson had 11 points. KPs were Elizabeth Folk and Rosemary Smith on 16, and Helen Flynn and Cheryl Davies on 7.

Sept. 20 is the Breast Cancer Fundraiser 9 &Wine event. After playing nine holes, enjoy a glass of wine with appetizers, prizes and silent auction items. There are some special items to be had. Call the pro shop to sign up as an individual or as a team. Shotgun start 5 p.m.

•Sunnydale Ladies Sept. 7: Fran Wright had the longest putt on #1. June Fuller had the longest drive on #2 and was closest to the pin third shot on #5. Andrea McGinnis was closest to the pin second shot on #3. Erma Derkson was closest to the painted rock on #9. Anna Butler had the lowest putts. Linda Baker was most honest.
