Double win for Vanier girls

The Vanier Secondary junior and senior girls basketball teams were both victorious Tuesday.

Playing at home, the junior Towhees defeated Alberni District Secondary, and the seniors beat Cowichan Secondary.

The senior boys game against John Barsby Community School of Nanaimo has been postponed to Feb. 9.

Vanier hosts the 2018 Towhee Invitational Senior Boys Basketball Tournament Friday and Saturday. Action starts at 2:30 p.m., with Kwalikum taking on Nanaimo District Secondary. The Towhees play Westview of Maple Ridge at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
