Can you guess your time?

The Comox Valley Road Runners Memorial Run and Annual General Meeting are taking place Sunday, Nov. 25 at Lewis Park.

The run is a free event where participants select the distance of their choosing, anywhere from three- to 10 kilometres. Participants then predict how long it will take them to complete that distance. Whoever is closest to their predicted time is the winner. No watches or other timing devices are allowed. Registration is at the Evergreen Room in the Filberg Centre in Courtenay from 9:15-9:45. The fun run begins at 10 a.m.

The AGM begins at 11:30 in the Evergreen Room. All are welcome. The meeting will open with Terry Lewis as a guest speaker. Lewis has been a director with the Vancouver Island Spine Trail Association since 2014. He will provide a short talk about progress on the Vancouver Island Trail, which is planned to stretch 770km from southern Vancouver Island to Cape Scott in the north.

The CVRR provides a variety of events and services in the Comox Valley. This includes the 5th Street Mile, the 5km Running Clinic, the Run4Fun Kids clinic, the Comox Valley RV Half Marathon, and the Jingle Bell Run. The latter is Dec. 2. Be sure to check it out as it is a great family run or walk in Seal Bay park, and includes a 3km and 7km course. Race entry is $5 plus a non-perishable food item. All money and food collected are donated to the local food bank.
