The Island Barrel Racers had a great turnout for Saturday's race.
The top riders were: Open 1D Sara Rathy from Lanzville, 2D Leslie Pederson from Black Creek, 3D Kaila Christie from Courtenay and 4D Severin Pederson from Black Creek.
In the Junior class, 1D went to Morgan Davis from Courtenay, 2D Meaghan Bergman from Black Creek and 4D Kim Versluis from Campbell River.
The senior classes top riders were 1D Leslie Pederson, 2D Sue Sheppard from Coombs, 3D Carole Herman from Courtenay and 4D Kathleen Worth from Merville.
There was one PeeWee, Paige Noble from Coombs, who came out and did some awesome rides. The next race is May 26 at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds. Racing starts at 5 p.m.
