Nine couples participated at the Comox Legion's Ham and Pineapple darts shoot on Saturday, Aug. 25.
Playing a round robin format of two rounds, victors were Bill and Brenda Durant with 13 wins from a possible 16. Runners-up were Ernie Linden and Joanne Penny with 10 wins. Third spot went to the a best-of-three tiebreaker between last year's winners Terry Jackson and Pam Waterfield along with Doug and Barbara Messer who both had nine wins. Having to go to the third game (tied one game apiece) Terry and Pam edged out Doug and Barbara.
There was good array of colourful outfits. The best ladies outfit went to Joanne Penny and Bob Mossey was the best dressed male (pretty loud outfit actually, Bob).
Next up at the Comox Legion is the annual open mixed doubles tournament on Oct. 27. Poster will be displayed in venues in the Valley and Campbell River. More info will be issued in the media soon.
