Highland basketball player leads Island North team

Yui Fujiki of Highland Secondary was named outstanding girls player at the 32nd annual Vancouver Island Seniors Classic All-Star Basketball Games, Saturday, April 6 at Spectrum Secondary in Victoria.

Fujiki scored 19 points for the North Island squad, which defeated the South Island all-stars 64-55.

Hayden Fieret and Dawson Fox of the Isfeld Ice senior boys basketball played on the North A team, and their teammate Ian Rutledge played on the North B team. Both teams lost to South teams.

The event is designed as a wrap-up for graduating Grade 12 boys and girls.
