The host Mark Isfeld Ice beat Frances Kelsey Secondary of Mill Bay 56-41 in the championship final of the junior boys basketball tournament on the weekend.
To reach the final, Kelsey defeated the Vanier Towhees in an exciting semi-final. Vanier beat Timberline of Campbell River in the bronze medal match.
Kye Tinga of Isfeld was named MVP of the tourney.
Isfeld is hosting the first round of the North Zone playoffs starting Friday morning. The Ice plays Highland at 10 a.m. Vanier plays at 4 p.m.
