Kabush 18th at World Cup

Courtenay mountain biker second fastest Canadian at race in Czech Republic

Courtenay's Geoff Kabush was the second fastest Canadian in the Men's Elite race at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup race in the Czech Republic on Saturday, May 12.

Max Plaxton of Victoria was the fastest Canadian, taking 14th place by completing the 29.96-km course  in Nove Mesto Na Morave with a time of 1:29.18. Olympian and seven-time Canadian champ Kabush finished 18th (+3.17).

Nino Schurter won the event in 1:26.46.

 

The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup tour now travels to La Bresse, in France, this weekend (May 18-20) for the last event within the UCI Olympic Qualification period.
