Kids enjoying Run4Fun

Comox Valley Road Runners' program was again proving popular

Forty-two enthusiastic junior runners between the ages of seven and 14 are hitting up seven different locations around the Comox Valley every Monday evening this spring, as they enjoy the Comox Valley Road Runners’ (CVRR) Run4Fun program.

Run4Fun provides runners with skills to increase their endurance and learn to run in different terrain including trails and hills. "We are four weeks through the eight-week program, and it has been great to see so many returning faces as well as many new ones," a program spokesperson said.

"We are so pleased that one of our former runners has stepped up to help as a junior leader again this spring.  Runners have been learning about the importance of a proper warm up, pacing, and good nutrition.

"Regardless of their fitness levels or abilities, everyone has been getting fresh air and exercise while having good-old-fashioned fun in a supportive and non-competitive environment. This week, the Run4Fun crew will be hitting the trails in Seal Bay for a poker run," the spokesperson noted.

"Thank you to all of our dedicated CVRR volunteers and our sponsors including Extreme Runners, Re/Max Ocean Pacific Realty, Rawthentic Eatery, and Quality Foods for making Run4Fun such a success."
