MOMAR announces new date for Burnaby event

The Atmosphere Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR) has changed the date of the Burnaby race from May 26 to June 2.

Due to permitting challenges and post-race venue availability, the Atmosphere Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR) has changed the date of the Burnaby race from May 26 to June 2.

MOMAR race director Bryan Tasaka hopes this date change will work for those already intending to race, while enticing the fence-sitters with the greater chance of ideal racing weather.

Tasaka is really stoked about this year's Burnaby race. "This being our second year, we're more familiar with the terrain and the amenities in the area," says Tasaka. "We've scoped out new trails, and we're in the process of securing an intimate post-race party venue. Our Burnaby course director, Gary Robbins, is working on another challenging race course, filled with sweet single-track riding, scenic paddling, and challenging navigation."

The MOMAR is an off-road multisport sprint adventure race that requires teams to mountain bike, kayak, trail run, trek, and orienteer through a series of checkpoints over a 30 or 50 km course. The MOMAR series has staged 33 races in British Columbia, Canada over 12 race seasons.

The final MOMAR of the season will return to the historic mining town of Cumberland on Sept. 22.
